So it has been a while since I wrote anything caddy, interesting, or useless...... What in the world have you all been concerning yourselves with in myb absence? How did you make it thru the day? Who has been the focus of your life? I wanna hear ALL about it.... (NOT!!!!!!.........) HaHaHaHaHa Ain't that much changed since I been gone! IT'S STILL MY WORLD..... You're just TAKING UP OXYGEN HONTEE!!!!!

The SHOW at The Corner Bar Tuesday 4/20/2010....

So you know I am brutally honest in my opinions regarding the shows.... and you know that comes from my experience as an entertainer and the limits to which we must ALL hold ourselves.... So apparently......... some Queens have been listening!!! I walked into the Corner Bar in the middle of the first number of the night.... and my attention was immediately drawn to Miss Corner Bar 2009 - Dextaci.... Momma's PeePee's she was tearing it up old school with her lip sync... and while I was tail-cocked and have no memory of the song choice, I remember that I was impressed in her execution and the overall performance!! GOOOD JOB DIva! and then cut to Miss Helena Broadnax, as she brings out these colored blocks, and a ladder..... (LOVE PROPS) and she does this talent number that once perfected could be the ticket to a crown in her future.... Then...... Miss Dextaci decided it was her night to "let me have it hontee".... as she walked up onto the stage and performed my Signature Evening Gown Number....... Water From The Moon...... and let me tell you... even though I was in the back of the bar tearing up my own stage - Miss Dextaci had the lip sync and emotion running through her veins and was having a very MiMi moment! Miss Nathan was in complete spirit with her little pumps and lip gloss.... you're always a treat hontee! Overall the show was very entertaining and I was glad to see that the girls are working on some new things! Way to go..... but....... I'ma ask you to do betta!!!!

So........... you've all been wondering "When you gonna do a show... girl?" and I must tell you all to MARK YOUR CALENDARS..... and Save your CA$H..... MAY 22, 2010 @ The Corner Bar! MiMi will be out to perform for the "ROGER MAYES CELEBRATION - A TRIBUTE TO REVIELLE DEAUX DONROE" to pay tribute to one of the entertainers who was very influential to the beginnings of MiMi Wellch and a true friend. All proceeds will go to offset final expenses. Get there EARLY as it will be a packed house! and...... Remember that Tipping is not just a city in China!..... I NEED YOUR CA$H!!!!!!!!

In a society that has INCREASING Aids infections, and a society that is in URGENT NEED for HELP..... Our illustrious Governor, Bobby Jindal is CUTTING the budgets of Aids Resources, Public funded Healthcare facilities!!! He does not want to increase the funding as it should be, but instead would rather CUT benefits (because what can HIV/AIDS patients actually contribute to the state... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?!?) in order to balance the state's budget. Making a bid for President in 2012 is the top of his agenda.... not the actual care and concern for the residents in his state. HMMMMM!!!!! BEWARE CITIZENS!!!! THIS IS NOT THE MAN YOU WANT RUNNING ANYTHING! I'm sure he'd rather ship all gay people to an island somewhere rather than have to look at us. And if he could get away with it, he'd ship all of the people infected with hiv or aids to another state to keep his budget from having to spend money on them. It seems he doesn't realize the impact that GAY REVENUE has on THIS state. WAKE UP IDIOT! How about you have your Director of Tourism or the LTPA conduct a study and get you the revenue statistics before you just make an ASS out of yourself by assuming!!!! Also remember that the WORLD does not revolve around you.... every now and then you have to submit to the world of someone else. We all do! So........ tonight's performances SUCKED - except for ONE.... CASEY JAMES!!! Everybody else's performance was SUB-PAR...... all I can say is they better be GLAD that they only lose 2 Boys and 2 Girls....

American Idol, Queen Accomplishments, & Cooled Jets

Cooled Jets............

I would like to comment while my jets are cooled..... I do not dislike any of the Drag Queens in Monroe. I admire each of them for putting forth their efforts to bring the art form to life in our quiet city. I do however, believe that ALL of them have some learning and growing to do. (as all of us do)... I was not always the pretty queen by the name of MiMi...... I had to learn, and learn every day and grow as a person as well as an entertainer. It was through the leadership of queens who came before me that I learned (both local entertainers as well as national titleholders). I do however, take offense to people who think they can "railroad" me, queen or not. Plain and simple. I will continue to comment as I see fit. (Remember that opinions are like assholes.... everybody has one and thinks theirs doesn't stink)

Queen's accomplishments.........

Last week, my show consisted of: Dextaci, Josalyn Royalle, & Zoey Valentine. My opinions on last weeks show are as follows: Each of these gurls is a good entertainer. Each one brought something different to the stage, and I enjoyed the show. Zoey understands make-up the best and always brings a "brilliant" face! Dextaci brings energy and a good lip sinc! Josalyn brings creativity and hard work! Song choices were excellent, and I would like to say "PROPS!!!" Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see you perform again!

Levels of Title & My opinions.........

Bar Title: A local pageant held to help introduce the art form to locals and to boost patronage of the host bar.

City Preliminary: A city-wide preliminary pageant held to advance a local entertainer through the ranks and offer a chance to become something better.

Regional (State) Preliminary: A state preliminary pageant that is open to more than one area in order to advance an entertainer through the ranks and offers a chance to compete against a wider range of entertainers and to become something better.

State Pageant: A state preliminary to a National title that an entertainer must first win a preliminary pageant. Offers a chance to compete against entertainers from all over the state. Competition can be fierce, depending on the preliminary winners.

Regional (National) Preliminary: A National preliminary pageant that is open to more than one area in order to advance an entertainer through the ranks and offers a chance to compete against a wider range of entertainers and to become something better. Competition is typically FIERCE!!!

National Pageant: The typical GOAL pageant for entertainers. Competitors must win a qualified preliminary pageant. Competition is FIERCE, and several competitors have been trying for years to win. Entertainers will rarely win on their first attempt.

As you should be able to have decifered - the goal should be to "DO BETTER!"

This week is the TOP 12 Girls on Tuesday....... and for the record, I don't pick a favorite until the field is narrowed quite a bit.... There are a few that I enjoy quite a bit..... Can't wait to see who is going home Thursday.........

Just to re-iterate a previous point............ THIS IS MY BLOG, and IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT.... STOP READING IT!!!!


I have just heard that a certain OLD WHITE HAIRED FAT BITCH is running her mouth - when it isn't hitting the marijuana to anyone who will listen......(It seems she feels as though I'm talking about her son...... and if she'd prefer, I CAN NAME THEM BOTH!!!!) and is threatening to "run to the owner" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Who cares!!!!!! I have the microphone and they can take it away if they like,........... but I'm STILL GONNA RUN MY MOUTH & MY BLOG........ I am respectful, (as I have not called anyone's errors out by name) and simply state the obvious. It isn't my fault that she feels as though he walks on water... I am entitled to my opinion, and to tell the truth, I've been doing drag since he was a toddler!!!!!!! If you want your child to be embarrassed and humiliated when he goes outside of this part of the state, or outside of this state, then keep doing what you're doing MARY....... Far be it from me to give a fuck....... BUT......... If you want him to SUCCEED --- you might want to uncrumple your panties and PAY ATTENTION...................... (let's face it,........ you're biased. Plain and simple.)


If this person (or any of you for that matter) feels as though I am wrong...... go visit THE ROSE ROOM..... and then tell me you / they are doing everything right.

Shoes.....The Queens wearing them: Rite Aid SUCKS: & CVS ROCKS!!!

Sorry I missed yesterday's post.... perhaps today will end up with 2 - ......


So the Drag Show Tuesday night @ THE CORNER BAR was actually decent (for Monroe). The Queens actually tried to bring it and were (for the most part) entertaining.... We did have a "Jennifer's Body" moment that was a little frightening since it did not make sense to me... but she tried...... and to hear her tell it, she was fabulous....again with these "I am Sasha" attitudes... hahahaha They wore some fabulous shoes and Zoey had hair for her last number that was very MiMi worthy.... GOOD JOB GURLS!


RITE-AID and CVS..........

So I have Asthma (have for years) and my nebulizer tubing sprung a leak and basically was not working. I ordered tubing from Amazon.com, but as you all know the bar is full of cigarette smoke which does not help my condition, especially when my sinus' have drained and my chest is suddenly congested. Yesterday started the coughing, which is sure to trigger an asthma attack if left untreated.... so the search for tubing began.... Chain Super-drug stores should be the place to go, or so I thought..... I started my journey at Rite-Aid (WHICH SUCKS FAT ASS.....) and was told by the pharmacist that they do not carry it, even though his own grandaughter is asthmatic. He suggested I go to a medical supply store that was closed.... Thanks for the help......NOT NOT NOT......... I then decided to go to an indepentent pharmacy (mom & pop) since that is where I had to go in Florida to get it the first time. They didn't have it either, but at least Aaron's Pharmacy tried to give good Customer Service and called another independent pharmacy to see if they carried it..... alas they did not have it either and again I was referred to the SAME medical supply house that was closed. I stopped by Freds to check if they might have it as I needed a pack of DVD's anyway..... they did not...........

I must say that I am QUITE appalled by the pharmacies that act as though
thousands of people don't use these machines and require supplies.....

I remembered that a good friend of mine also uses a nebulizer, and works in Home Health, so I called her to see where she gets her supplies. She had FABULOUS information that the CVS Pharmacy on North 18th Street normally carries it. I walked into the store, went back to the Pharmacist and LOW & BEHOLD..... THEY HAD IT...... Choir bells went to ringing and the heavens were re-aligned. CVS is the BEST STORE!!!!! I was finally able to take a breathing treatment and instantly felt better!


Now if I could get my bones to stop aching and these come & go chills to go away I'd be set...... Lots and Lots of Juice..... and covering with 10 quilts and blankets to try to end this mess.... Hope to feel better soon...... I will post more as I can.....

Quizno's, Upcoming Show, & Do Better!!!

QUIZNOS:

So I went to Quiznos #2765 today for lunch... and this is what happenned.....

I looked at the menu, and decided I wanted a Chicken Carbonara Sandwich. The menu said I have my choice of Artisan Breads: Italian White, 9 Grain Artisan Wheat, Rosemary Parmesan... So I ordered my sandwich on Rosemary Parmesan Bread. The young lady made my sandwich, and another employee rang me up. She even asked if I wanted to upgrade my combo to a large drink. I paid the $9.00 that was told to me. My sandwich was finished, and the MANAGER then asked if it was mine. When I said yes, she then looked at the computer to see if I had paid for it. She then asked the employee if I had been "charged" for bread. The employee who rang me up said I had not. The manager then told me.... "I need to charge you for Rosemary Bread". I did not feel like fighting with her over her menu, so I paid her $.82 for bread. Needless to say when I got home, I called the corporate office and made a complaint. Now the FUNNY part about all of this is while I was looking at the menu, the manager was talking to the UPS man about how business sucks and if it doesn't pick up, she's gonna have to go into something else. PERHAPS SHE SHOULD STOP GOUGING CUSTOMERS, and FOLLOW THE COMPANY GUIDELINES. I won't be returning to the QUIZNOS on N. 18th Street again..........

So apparently there was some confusion yesterday. This is MY BLOG, and as the tagline says... it is "M y interpretation of the WORLD, the people in it, and the way it should be." If you don't like what I say, don't read it.

As I was saying yesterday... Drag is NOT what it used to be in Monroe. Back in the 90's, Monroe had State and National Titleholders who lived here, and were brought in to perform here on a weekly and monthly basis. The local queens, new and established had something to look up to and aspire to be. The local queens used to hold each other accountable for trying to be the BEST they could BE.... and if they fell short, they were called out about it. How else are you supposed to learn and grow? Today in Monroe, there are NO titleholders, no outside entertainers to look up to. The queens are having to start over from scratch. This is NOT their fault, it simply IS WHAT IT IS.....

Since I moved back home in December, I have heard MOST of the local queens at least once - "I am a titleholder" - Let me help clarify why this offends me.... there are different levels of titles, and ANY titleholder should be able to tell you that all that title means is that noone better than her entered that night. Does that mean that they are a bad entertainer? NO! Absolutely not, but by the same token, they are not the BEST in the industry, and I for one, would like to stop hearing that attitude in their voices. No matter how good you are, you can always DO BETTER!

Every time the queens above enter a pageant, they know that there will be competition, and they must DO BETTER! All I am asking of these local gurls, is to Stop the "I'm the shit attitude" and "DO BETTER!"

Welcome to the FABU Queer!

Well....... Now I have been threatening for years to begin blogging.... and now I have done it! Look out WORLD.... the loud mouth, opinionated, FABU Queer is about to LET YOU HAVE IT HONEY!

I must begin by saying that I am a fair person, but quite old fashioned in my thinking of some things and quite urban in my interpretation of others. I expect and demand EXCELLENT service from everyone, and rarely tolerate anything less (every "Luna Blue" I will make an exception). I am quite the frugal (cheap ass bitch) shopper with a flare for the extravagant (DUH! I WAS a queen....hence the photo).

I can be found every other week (as the BOY I am now) at THE CORNER BAR - hosting the Drag Show....on TUESDAYS @ 11:00 PM (Let me add a disclaimer: "Drag is NOT what it used to be in Monroe, and my mission in life is to help these gurls understand it as it used to be. Through the use of Catty remarks, 'reading', and bluntness, I will transform them if it is the last thing I do") I must throw in a little "HOLLA" and "PRAISE" to those that came before me and showed me how to "READ", "be CATTY", & "being BLUNT". For these lessons, I am eternally grateful and will never be able to repay you, or show enough gratitude.... I can also be found every Sunday at 5:00 PM at the Metropolitan Community Church of Monroe. Hope to see you soon!
